Curse of the Axe Film Screening

Plan Your Visit

In celebration of Archaeology Month in Quebec, Shaw Media, YAP Films Inc. and the Canadian Museum of Civilization invite you and a guest to the screening of the Canadian documentary Curse of the Axe.

Curse of the Axe is a riveting documentary that tells the story of a promising archaeological survey of some farm fields near Toronto. The dig leads to what Dr. Ron Williamson, one of Canada’s foremost archaeologists, describes as ”an Indiana Jones moment,” and as the documentary unfolds, a stunned team of archaeologists realize they have found something unheard of in the history of the Huron people.

Q&A to follow with Archaeologist Dr. Ron Williamson, Director Robin Bicknell and Luc Lainé, Ambassador of the Huron-Wendat Nation. Artifacts from the archaeological dig will be on display.

Reception with cash bar will follow.

The exhibition Maya: Secrets of their Ancient World will be open for visiting.
