A bold reimagining begins

The Canadian Children’s Museum is preparing for an exciting renewal that will transform it into a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable destination for children and families, redefining how it engages with and inspires young minds through play.

The current Children’s Museum will remain open until the end of March 2027, at which point it will temporarily close to allow for construction. The renewed space is expected to open in late 2028.

During the transition, members will enjoy

  • unlimited access to City in Action — a vibrant, hands-on mini-city opening in February 2027 at the Canadian Museum of History, where children can explore real-world roles through imaginative play;
  • pop-up family experiences throughout the Canadian Museum of History, including playful activities and interactive installations in public spaces;
  • exclusive renewal updates; and
  • first access to the new Canadian Children’s Museum.

A vibrant and accessible Children’s Museum is a key priority, with many opportunities to engage and support this work as members, donors and volunteers.

Together, we’re daring to inspire tomorrow’s history — one playful moment at a time.

Stay tuned for updates through member communications and Museum channels.
