Earl “Flat” Chase (16 August 1910 – 5 May 1954) was born in North Buxton, to George and Elva. He later moved to Windsor where he spent his childhood across the street from a ball park. He once hit .700 in the Chatham City League, and held the record for longest hit in numerous parks. He married in 1934, and was the father to four children.
