March Break – Snownovation
Celebrate the end of the winter and the beginning of spring with an ode to snow and the many ways we enjoy it, with the lots of fun activities at the Museum and the exhibition Snow.
Make and taste some delicious maple syrup taffy in the Children’s Museum Studio
Workshops start at: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily; Thursdays at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Visit the Grand Hall and take part in the following Snow-inspired activities:
Construct an indoor igloo
Building starts at: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Watch a short NFB film on how traditional igloos are constructed
Ongoing throughout the day.
Play a game of Toboggans and Ladders, and build your own snow fort models out of 10,000 white Mega Bloks®!
Ongoing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tap your toes to the music of La Ridaine, as they evoke winters of yore with French-Canadian folk songs.
March 5 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Freshwater Trade‘s Celtic-inspired tunes will transport you to early Ottawa Valley lumberjack camps in the middle of winter.
