Community Activities and Road Closures

Please note the following road closures around the Canadian Museum of History during the IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa event on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Laurier Street East, between boulevards Maisonneuve and des Allumetières, will be closed from 5 am to 4 pm.

Police officers and volunteers will be stationed at the Papineau / Laurier Street intersection to allow visitors through to access the Museum’s ceremonial drive.

The Museum’s underground parking will remain open. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to reach the Museum with minimal delays during this time.

Please allow extra time to get to the Museum, as there may be delays due to these street closures. We also encourage visitors to follow posted traffic signage and the directions of police officers and volunteers along the route. The Museum will remain open during its regular hours of operation.
