Canada co-hosted the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Mexico and the United States. It’s one of the world’s largest sporting events, with 48 countries competing. Thirteen matches were held in Toronto and Vancouver. This was the first time the World Cup was hosted in Canada.
To mark this occasion, this small display features six objects from the Museum’s collection that highlight Canada’s international soccer history. Together, they offer a glimpse into the events, people, wins and losses that have shaped Canadian soccer history.
