Description
When Phyllis was a little girl, she couldn’t wait to go to residential school for the first time. Her Granny bought her a shiny orange shirt that she loved, and she wore it to school that first day. When she arrived at the school, the shirt was taken away from her and never returned.
This is the true story of Phyllis Webstad and the story of Orange Shirt Day, which for all Canadians is a day to reflect on the treatment of Aboriginal peoples and the message that “Every Child Matters”.
