Description
This argillite bowl represents Beaver holding a stick in its mouth. These reproduction pieces in high density resin are moulded from casts of original historical Haida argillite carvings from the Canadian Museum of History’s collection. Argillite is a soft slate-like material found only on Haida Gwaii. Haida artists have carved this important material for trade and for sale since at least the early nineteenth century. 28 x 17 cm. |
