Celebrate the Feast of Theophany at the Canadian Museum of History

January 12, 2024
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Join members of the local Ukrainian community, on site or online, to celebrate the Feast of Theophany in traditional Ukrainian Catholic rite.

The celebration with seasonal carols will take place on Saturday at St. Onuphrius Church, a consecrated Ukrainian Catholic church located in the heart of the Canadian History Hall at the Canadian Museum of History. Those attending the celebration in person can also take part in the Great Blessing of the Water from the riverbank behind the Museum.

The Museum of History houses St. Onuphrius Church, the former home of the Ukrainian-Catholic parish of Barich, Alberta. The Church was dismantled and rebuilt in the Museum, where it remains a consecrated living church. The water blessing ceremony has been, and continues to be, celebrated for many years.
