A Métis from the Georgian Bay area, Cherie Dimaline is writer-in-residence at the University of Toronto’s First Nations House. Her first book, Red Rooms, was published in 2007, and a novel, The Girl Who Grew a Galaxy, will be in bookstores this year. The author also participates in the development of cultural and arts projects in Aboriginal communities in Ontario and Manitoba.
