Discover Indigenous languages, songs and art during National Indigenous History Month at the Museum.
Throughout the month of June, go at your own pace as you learn about vibrant Indigenous cultures through special self-guided activities. Borrow a portable music player at the Coat Check and listen to Indigibeats — a curated playlist of Indigenous songs and music — while you explore the Museum.
Pick up a free Artifact Hunt brochure at the entrance of the First Peoples Hall, and search for special art and artifacts in the First Peoples Hall. Visit UNCEDED – Voices of the Land, a breathtaking multimedia installation bringing together the past, present and future of the Indigenous experience, as seen through the eyes and minds of 18 distinguished Indigenous architects and designers from across Turtle Island (North America).
And don’t miss Footprints – A Walk Through Generations (opening June 11), a travelling exhibition developed by the Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute, which focuses on the importance of walking as a healing and empowering experience in Cree culture, both past and present.
