Lifelines: Canada's East Coast Fisheries Lifelines: Canada's East Coast Fisheries
April 6, 2001 to February 24, 2002

Lines attached to hooks, traps and trawls inextricably connect two communities: one of fish; the other of people who harvest them.

Lifelines relates seven parts of the story of these two communities. The tale is of an abundant ocean which has sustained human life along our eastern shores for thousands of years, and of people struggling to unlock its bounty. A precarious balance between the needs of each has been hard to achieve and eludes us still.
