The Canadian Nursing History Collection

The Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum house an extensive collection on nursing history. The core of the collection includes over a thousand artifacts - from syringe kits to military medals - donated by the Canadian Nurses Association. This important material, along with the nurses' caps and other artifacts, will be the basis of a future exhibition at the CMC on the history of nursing in Canada.

Information on the majority of these artifacts is available in our online collections catalogue.
