Hull City Hall, 1899

Hull City Hall
25 Laurier Street

This is what the grand old City Hall looked like when first constructed (on the grounds of the present day City Hall). The original building was lost in the Great Fire of 1900. It was then rebuilt, using the same foundations, but in a slightly different style. That building too was lost to fire. The three ladies shown are Miss Doury of Winnipeg and the two Code sisters, who were sisters to Mrs. Sarah Louise Britain, the lady who most likely took the photo. See where the ladies went after this picture was taken.
