In 1970, his career flourishing, Chris began working at Comstock International, a large, general construction firm that, in 1974, was listed as being the sixty-ninth largest company in Canada. Chris worked in the mechanical and electrical division and became a supervisor on some of the largest industrial and commercial construction projects in Canada at the time, including the Toronto Institute of Medical Technology, the National Life Building, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hamilton Place, the General Motors Paint Shop, the Eldorado Refinery in Port Hope, and the Toronto Western Hospital. One of his major accomplishments was his work on the Royal Bank Plaza complex in downtown Toronto, its two towers soaring forty-one and twenty-six stories. Chris worked on this project for nearly three years and was entirely responsible for the installation of all of the ducting and related materials for one of the towers.
