Biography of Henri Guillaumet

1902 Born in Bovy, France, on May 29.
1921 Joins the army as a certified pilot.
1926 Joins LAL with Saint-Exupéry. Responsible for mail on the Casablanca-Dakar line.

During one of many flights over the Andes, aboard his Potez 25, makes a forced landing on the edge of Laguna Diamante. Walks for days and nights before finally reaching help.
1934 Completes his 396th and final flight over the Andes. Crosses the South Atlantic as Mermoz's co-pilot aboard the Couzinet 70, Arc-en-ciel.
1940 Called back to serve in the war. During a mission to Beirut, flying a Farman F-2234, is shot down over the Mediterranean by an Italian fighter plane.
