Completes his 396th and final flight over the Andes. Crosses the South Atlantic as Mermoz's co-pilot aboard the Couzinet 70, Arc-en-ciel. |

Called back to serve in the war. During a mission to Beirut, flying a Farman F-2234, is shot down over the Mediterranean by an Italian fighter plane. |
