Between June 17 and November 2, 2003, the Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History hosted the exhibition Archaeology and the Bible; From King David to the Dead Sea Scrolls. When the exhibition moved to the Canadian Museum of Civilization additional artefacts were incorporated and the title was changed to Ancient Treasures and the Dead Sea Scrolls to take into account the full range of materials presented and the expanded story line. The exhibition was shown at the Canadian Museum of Civilization between December 5, 2003 and April 12, 2004.

The exhibition was organized by the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History and in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Artifacts on loan from the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, the Israel Antiquities Authority, and the Library and Archives of Canada. Exhibition produced in Canada by Pointe-à-Callière in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Canada Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program.

Most of the artifacts in this exhibition are normally on permanent display at the Israel Museum.
