    Fernand Schryer

Fernand Schryer learned violin making from his grandfather. Making his living as a fisherman, he could not find the time to engage in instrument making until he was in his 40s. But, since his retirement, he has devoted himself full time to the art. To date, he has made 300 violins. Schryer prefers to use local wood, which he cuts himself and which he dries for years before using.
