Pte Sanwin
(White Buffalo - Katrine Ferguson) 

1872 - 1946 

    Pte Sanwin was just a small child when she came to Canada with her family in 1876. When she was about ten years old her mother died in childbirth and from then on her father Zuya Tehidan (Loves War) looked after her until she married Nupa Kikte. She was the granddaughter of Black Moon.    
    Among the Lakota women at Moose Jaw and Wood Mountain she was one of the finest beadworkers. She was very prolific and many samples of her work have been deposited with the Moose Jaw Art Museum. Along with her husband she took part in parades and pow-wows at
