Join us for a special evening marking the official opening of Pizandawatc / The One Who Listens.
This exhibition brings together a selection of works by Anishinaabe/French artist Caroline Monnet.
Through layered wooden sculptures, bronze forms, embroidered textiles, and immersive sound, Monnet transforms the resonance of Anishinaabemowin into striking works that explore memory, identity, and the enduring connection between language, land, and culture.
Event highlights:
- Kristine McCorkell, Curator of Indigenous Art, will moderate a conversation with Caroline Monnet and guest curator Mona Filip on traditional language preservation, land-based knowledge, and kinship featured in the exhibition.
- First look at the new exhibition Pizandawatc / The One Who Listens, in the presence of the artist and the guest curator.
