A Cultural Evening at the Canadian Postal Museum

Gatineau, Quebec, March 14, 2006 — The Canadian Postal Museum at the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to an evening of Coffee and Conversation with Luc Gauvreau. Come and enjoy the work of writer Jacques Ferron (1921–1985), one of Quebec’s great letter writers, who sent more than 2,500 letters to over 260 correspondents during his lifetime, as well as some 200 open letters to the press. “Postman” Ferron, as he was nicknamed, often said that he learned to write by writing letters.

Guest lecturer Luc Gauvreau has been giving talks on the work of his favourite writer ever since reading La Nuit in his youth. He is the designer of a Web site dedicated to the author, and is responsible for the year of tribute to Jacques Ferron.
