Gatineau, Quebec, September 24, 2012 – Do you dream of becoming a filmmaker? Is your basement or your china cabinet stuffed with family treasures? The Canadian Museum of Civilization has just the activities for you! During Culture Days, from Friday September 28 to Sunday September 30, the Museum invites you to create your own animated film image by image and take part in its “Pop-up Museum.”

So you want to be a filmmaker? is a workshop where you will create an animated film using PixStop. This user-friendly app developed by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) makes it easy to create stop-motion films. We supply an iPad tablet and you write the script. Once you complete your masterpiece, you can show it online to all your friends.

You can also showcase your treasures by participating in our first royal-themed “Pop-up Museum,” a collective display. This show-and-tell for adults will offer insight into some features of Canada’s royal history. Museum staff will be on hand to answer your questions and advise you on how to care for your family heirlooms.
