George V, the "Collector King"
Stamps for a Jubilee
This album contains a collection of Canadian stamps commemorating Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. It was presented to The Duke of York (future George V) by the Government of Canada during the 1897 celebrations. Made of blue Moroccan leather, it has solid Yukon gold corners and clasp. The inscription is ornamented with the coat of arms of the Dominion of Canada and a spray of maple leaves.
