The first Christmas Marketplace at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, November 29, 2010 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization takes great pleasure in presenting its first Christmas Marketplace, from December 2 to 5, 2010.

Join us for a stress-free, festive shopping experience this holiday season at our special Marketplace, which features handcrafted gifts and fine regional foods.

Thanks to a partnership with the Marché de solidarité régionale de l’Outaouais, the Museum’s Christmas Marketplace will allow you to do all of your holiday gift-shopping at a single location. Come discover the work and the talents of more than 30 regional producers and craftsmen, such as Ferme Lavender Ridge with its lavender-based body-care line; Ceci Ceramics with its small hand-painted ceramic bowls and Christmas decorations; and the art pieces, jewellery and glass Christmas decorations of Mag Designs. Also, don’t forget the artisanal bread of Boulangerie Grains de vie; the cheese made from ewe’s and cow’s milk, of Folies Bergère; the fine maple- and honey-based products of the Paniers d’Élaine; wild boar sausages of Par Toutatis; and wines and strawberry port from the Domain du Mont-Vézeau, to name only a few.

Enjoy Christmas carols, a festive atmosphere, children activities and treats, as well as an encounter with a Victorian character of the Museum’s theatre company, Dramamuse!
