Temporary closure of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 

 For immediate release 

Gatineau, Quebec, April 1, 2021 — Due to the latest COVID-19 restrictions, the Canadian Museum of History will be closed to visitors and all other groups as of 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, and the Canadian War Museum will be closed as of 4 p.m. on Friday, April 2, until further notice. All on-site events and programs have also been cancelled. 

This closure is in response to the latest public health directives from the governments of Quebec and Ontario. We regret the impact of this decision on the individuals, families and groups who use our facilities; however, the health and safety of visitors remain our top priority.  

Throughout the closure, both Museums will continue to present dynamic digital offerings on their websites. To explore our rich contentor for updates, please visit the Museums’ websites at historymuseum.ca and warmuseum.ca, and follow us on social media. 

Thank you for your understanding during these exceptional times, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Museums soon.
