Coffee and Conversation: The Cult of Glenn Gould

Cheryl Gillard, M.A., and Dr. Rachelle Chiasson-Taylor discuss why Gould and his music have enriched the lives of music lovers.
This activity is presented in conjunction with the Glenn Gould: The Sounds of Genius multimedia exhibition, where Gould is the main feature. He speaks through his taped interviews, writings, media productions and, of course, his music. Come admire a remarkably rich and varied collection of the artist’s artifacts.
In partnership with Library and Archives Canada, in conjunction with the Canadian Museum of Civilization, in honour of Glenn Gould’s 75th birthday and the 25th anniversary of his death.

This activity is presented as part of the series Just for You and Your Preschooler, which offers preschoolers and accompanying adults adventures to discover the Museum and its exhibitions.

The Subway Mouse

Find out if the adventures of Nib and his friend Lola lead them to Tunnel’s End in award-winning Canadian author and illustrator Barbra Reid’s heart-warming story, “The Subway Mouse.” Storytelling: 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. (French); 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (English). Then head to the Studio to make your own clay relief picture inspired by the story’s characters, Nib, a brave young mouse, and his friend Lola.
