Explore more than 6,000 Years of History of the Oldest Continuous Civilization on Earth – Last Chance to See the Exhibition Treasures from China!

Gatineau, Quebec, October 18, 2007 — There are only ten days left in which to discover – or rediscover – the dazzling exhibition Treasures from China, appearing at the Canadian Museum of Civilization only until October 28.

The exhibition Treasures from China features 120 prized artifacts, illuminating the rich history and remarkable achievements of the Chinese people from ancient times to the modern era. On display are jade carvings and lacquerware; paintings and calligraphy; silk textiles; ceramics; and items fashioned from bronze, gold and silver.

The exhibition was developed as a result of an exchange agreement signed two years ago by the National Museum of China and the Canadian Museum of Civilization. In return, the Museum of Civilization is creating an exhibition for the National Museum of China showcasing treasures of Canada’s First Peoples. That exhibition will be presented at the Imperial City Museum in Beijing in 2008.

Join the thousands of visitors who have marveled at the rare and wonderful masterpieces in the exhibition Treasures from China, at the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
