From Headlines to History: The puck drops September 15
September 23, 2011Gatineau, Quebec, September 12, 2011 — In celebration of the 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) and the Canadian War Museum (CWM), in partnership with the public broadcaster, are hosting “From Headlines to History,” a conference series on some of the great moments of this country and their impact on Canadians.
The series gets underway this Thursday with the presentation of Hockey: The Game, the Glory. Join sports commentators Mark Lee (CBC), Richard Garneau (Radio-Canada) and folklorist Sheldon Posen (CMC) as they discuss hockey, the media, and the impact ‘Rocket’ Richard had on the game and Canadian culture. This first conference will be hosted by Adrian Harewood (CBC) and Daniel Bouchard (Radio-Canada).
