Projectile point

Canadian Museum of History, RbJu-1:1083, IMG2008-0583-0123-Dm

The earliest inhabitants of the Canadian Arctic were excellent stone workers. This projectile point, perhaps as old as 5,000 years, tipped an arrow. The careful patterning of flake scars suggests that its maker’s intent was to create not only a functional object but also a visually pleasing one.
