Unused Vancouver Island Five Cents, 1865

The Vancouver Island Five Cents and Ten Cents were issued following the Island's adoption of the decimal system. At the time of printing, a small number of stamps were purposely or inadvertently left imperforate. They were used concurrently with the perforated stamps for postage. The unused ones shown here are particularly rare.
