A CELEBRATION OF TWENTY YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN FINE CRAFTS

Transformation: Prix Saidye Bronfman Award 1977 - 1996 was an exhibition prepared by the Canadian Museum of Civilization featuring the exquisite work of some of Canada's finest craftspeople, all recipients of the prestigious Saidye Bronfman Award.

Up to 25 nominations are received each year for the highest honour in the field of Canadian crafts, nominations made by crafts associations, schools, galleries and other craftspeople. The selections from Transformation which follow include a superb array of hand-crafted pieces of art: shimmering blown glass vessels, exotic wood furnishings, fine bookbinding, stunning gold and sterling silver jewellery, elegant stained glass, breathtaking fibre creations and distinctive porcelain and ceramics. This remarkable collection is a tribute to great Canadian craftspeople, who strive to be innovators and leaders in their specialized fields.
