Gatineau, Quebec, June 20, 2016 — All summer long, the Canadian Museum of History’s CINÉ+ offers you an exciting adventure in the heart of Africa, where you can discover unique landscapes and amazing creatures.

From the highest snow-covered mountains in Kenya, along great rivers, into steamy rainforests and wide-open savannahs, Wild Africa 3D reveals the striking contrast of stunning deserts beside wild oceans and the sunlit abundance of coral reefs. Water, the interconnecting force of the continent, serves as a guide, shaping wild Africa and conjuring up life wherever it journeys.

Through the magic of 3D technology and stunning 4k laser resolution, the audience flies along the Great Rift Valley, following the twisting rivers to discover a family of elephants on their epic search for water. Other animals featured include hungry crocodiles as they wait at the water holes for the annual wildebeest migration on the savannahs of the Serengeti, and a family of mountain gorillas in the forests of Rwanda. There are also thousands of flamingos performing an extraordinary mating display in the volcanic Lake Bogoria.

For the final epic giant screen experience, the film chases the great rains of the African summer storms that annually bring life to this magnificent continent. Wild Africa 3D is one of the most ambitious 3D nature films ever to premiere on the giant screen. It fuses Hollywood techniques with the best in nature filmmaking and storytelling. You will discover that the world is often more extraordinary and fascinating than any fiction!

Wild Africa 3D has a running time of 40 minutes. The film is a BBC Earth production in association with Evergreen Studios and is distributed by BBC Earth and Giant Screen Films.
