PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

For immediate release

Gatineau, Quebec, March 10, 2021 — The Canadian Museum of History is pleased to announce that it will present the exhibition Queens of Egypt from May 19 to August 29, 2021. We look forward to sharing these stunning treasures and their stories with our visitors this summer.

The Museum is delighted to be able to present this spectacular exhibition devoted to the women who wielded power and influence in Ancient Egypt.

Queens of Egypt will be an immersive, multi-sensory experience that sheds light on the important military, political, diplomatic and religious roles of seven legendary female figures of the New Kingdom, including Nefertari and Nefertiti. The iconic objects, largely coming from the Museo Egizio of Turin (Italy), which houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities outside of Egypt, will take visitors back in time 3,500 years.

The exhibition, which was postponed due to the pandemic, will be enhanced with an immersive space designed for families. Book your timed admission tickets now at historymuseum.ca.

Adapted by the Canadian Museum of History, Queens of Egypt is an exhibition developed by Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Archaeology and History Complex, in collaboration with Museo Egizio of Turin (Italy).

Work of the Canadian Museum of History is made possible in part through financial support of the Government of Canada.
