Two Piece Glazed Cupboard

This cupboard is a vigorous mix of neoclassical and folk influences in the Germanic tradition. Upper and lower moulded pilasters, carved roundels, and multiple panels on the lower doors and sides are prominent features of this cupboard. The framing, which is two inches (5.1 centimetres) thick, also contributes to its substantial presence. The four six-pointed stars are very much in the Germanic folk tradition. This example was purchased in the late 1960s at a farm sale near Goodwood, Ontario.
