The rectilinear design and orderly proportions are balanced by the cut-out shaping of the base. It is remarkable that the painted finish remains in such good condition and that the maker added his signature and date. Found on a century farm belonging to the Graham family, the cupboard’s survival speaks to the cultural roots of many British immigrants during the formative years leading up to Confederation.
