Three Drawer Work Table

This piece has all the features of a classic kitchen work table in the Germanic tradition. The two board top is attached to dovetailed cleats at each end, which in turn may be fastened to the table frame with pins. The cleats allow the top boards to expand or contract without separating and, as well, deter the boards from warping. The stretcher base provides additional stability and is well worn from many resting feet. This table was passed down in the Moyer family of Vineland, Ontario.
