Still Life Studies

These two still life studies were created at a time when many young women took up art to develop their skills and pass the time. Both examples bear the signature of the artist, “Kate E Douglass Maple Lodge Academy.” Douglass was presumably a student at the Maple Lodge Academy, located on Colborne Street in Simcoe, Ontario.
