Single Drawer Lamp Table

The distinguishing feature of this table is the well-developed pad foot or Dutch foot. This form is rarely seen on Canadian furniture and reflects a European influence. The style of this foot can be found on the early furnishings of other countries that were well-developed in the 1700s, such as the United States or countries in Europe. Some may say that it has a Queen Anne influence. Because Canada was far from the centres of design and fashion, furnishings were sometimes made here well after the popularity of a style had passed elsewhere.
