Pembroke Drop Leaf Table

This drop leaf table, with ebonized accents on turned legs and brass cup castors, has one functional drawer at one end, and a false one at the other. It has fine proportions and is made from the dark, dense mahogany generally favoured by Nova Scotia and New Brunswick cabinetmakers. Several similar tables, with a Halifax provenance and dating from this period, have surfaced over the years in numbers that speak to their popularity and social function.
