Flask

This rare earthenware flask was acquired in 1979 at an estate auction for the Nelson family, who lived in Markham, Ontario. The house and many of the contents dated from the early 1800s and this flask may be a one-of-a-kind item that was made locally. The sgraffito decorations on each side, the flare on the handle and the dark green simulated seam around the rim and centre edge provide interest.
