Carved Statuette of Angel
This beautifully carved and painted figure was removed from Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church as it was being demolished in 1963. The church, located on Leaman Hill (near Salisbury, New Brunswick), had been erected during the early to mid-1800s to serve members of the Irish community. The stylized acanthus leaf carving on the base was a popular form of embellishment at the time.
