Gate Leg Table

This table has finely turned and reeded legs in the Sheraton manner. Each leaf can be supported with a leg that swings out on a wooden hinge, and hence the term “gate leg.” The top and both leaves are each made from a single walnut board. This table was found near Rockton, Ontario, and may have been made for one of the Scottish communities nearby.
