Dome Top Storage Box

Small dome top storage boxes similar to this one have been found in regions of early settlement in Ontario, such as York County and the Niagara Region. They have been found in the Northeastern United States as well. While it is possible that some were made here in Canada, it is likely that others accompanied settlers who travelled north to their new homes. This box would have provided valuable and portable storage space. It was passed down in the Secord family, who were originally from Lincoln County, Ontario, and retains its original brightly painted decorative finish.
