Women Making History

Plan Your Visit

Canadian history-makers take centre stage this Women’s History Month.

Explore the Canadian History Hall from a fresh perspective: the lives of the extraordinary women who helped build our country. From Métis women of the fur trade to female factory workers of the Second World War, and vote-seeking suffragettes to women’s rights activists, women come into focus this October. Discover the stories of Indigenous writer and advocate Catherine Sutton, flag-maker Joan O’Malley, and educator and adventurer Agnes Deans Cameron. Interpretive staff will lead animations and distribute Historical Character Cards for your self-guided visit.
