Join Ukrainian carollers for a winter celebration with traditional songs and merriment.
Members of AKORD, the Ukrainian Men’s Choir of Ottawa, will share their carolling tradition with a joyful combination of Ukrainian and Western songs. For Ukrainian Christians, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ with family and friends. Carolling is a highlight, bringing music and merriment to long winter nights. Carollers visit family and friends to sing time-honoured songs. In return, people welcome them into their homes, give sweets to the children, and toast everyone’s health and good fortune for the coming year.
