Buy Tickets

This new exhibition shines a fascinating light on Montréal in the 1800s. Join Museum experts and explore the world of legendary Canadian photographer William Notman.

William Notman literally looked at the world through a different lens. Using unprecedented photographic techniques, he created stunning portraits of Montréal, the city he called home. This new exploration of Notman’s work opens with a celebration of his genius and a closer look at his subjects. The Canadian Museum of History’s Dr. John Willis and the McCord Museum’s Hélène Samson reveal the man behind the photographs — and the city he documented so thoroughly. All tours are followed by an informal question-and-answer period over tea, coffee and cookies.
