Buy Tickets

From bentwood boxes to argillite carvings, explore the Indigenous artistic traditions of Canada’s West Coast.

The artistic and technical prowess of Indigenous artists from the West Coast is legendary. Their profound knowledge of natural materials is evident in the curves of cedar bentwood boxes, and the delicate whorls carved into fragile argillite stone. A Museum staff member will help you examine authentic objects at various stages of production. Presented in our Grand Hall, this hands-on experience explores how different communities nurture and maintain their own distinct artistic traditions.
