Celebrating Women’s History

Buy Tickets

The Canadian History Hall abounds in tales of the many fabulous women who have shaped Canada’s history. In honour of International Women’s Day, held on March 8 each year, our interpreters will showcase three of these stories. Join us and learn about the important role played by Métis women, from the height of the fur trade to the present day. Explore the jobs that women took on during the Second World War and hear some of their personal stories. You also won’t want to miss the story of Joan O’Malley, the woman who sewed Canada’s first maple leaf flag on a stormy winter night. Come and explore your history with us!
