Do you have what it takes to be an Arctic explorer? Meet the underwater archaeologists whose team found HMS Erebus and Terror.

In 1845, Sir John Franklin and his crew set out to chart the famed Northwest Passage. They were well equipped and had done their research, but still met with disaster. Find out what skills you need to survive in the Arctic. Try on and compare traditional Inuit clothing to the type of clothing Franklin’s crew would have worn. Modern technology and Inuit oral histories recently helped Parks Canada archaeologists find Franklin’s missing ships in frigid Arctic waters. Talk to archaeologists Charles Dagneau and Alexandre Poudret-Barre about their techniques, and try your hand at creating 3D maps and locating artifacts in a shipwreck simulation.
