- Additional Information A cane with decorative features carved around it. These carvings depict three fish and a squid. Cane has an internal telescopic fishing rod comprised of 3 sections, though it may once have had more. The cap is missing from the metal butt end, which reveals red lettering. This cane belonged to Sir John A. Macdonald, who presented it to George Taylor, Chief Whip under every Conservative leader from 1867 until his death. In turn, George Taylor presented it to Sir Robert L. Borden after he was elected to the leadership.
